When choosing a seamstress to produce a high quality , one of a kind, bespoke wedding dress, it is a good idea to start your search as soon as you know your date.

It is good to have at least 6-9 months to create your dream gown, however some styles may be able to be done in a shorter timescale, it will be dependant on the seamstress' schedule. It is always worth asking , just incase.

When contacting a seamstress, she will need to know your wedding date, some detail of your idea, and budget.

You should ask if there are any online portfolios of previous work to view, testimonials etc .

After the initial contact, a free consultation should be arranged.

The Bride to Be should bring along any ideas for the dress, but also it is a good idea to have something to show about the whole wedding look . Pinterest is a great tool for creating a mood board of what you have in mind.

The seamstress will be able to show you selection of gorgeous fabric samples, discuss costs, and ideas in much more detail.

Always go by your instinct as to whether you feel your seamstress is the person you wish to work with , as you will be working with them for quite a while x
